The Next Generation Batuan Clothes Distribution Activity

On a sunny Sunday, August 7, 2022, the Indo Art House team visited Batuan village in a series of sponsorship preparations for the exhibition. This time we held a clothing distribution activity in preparation for the opening of the children’s exhibition under the title “RARE RUPA,” The Next Generation Batuan. This clothes distribution event is located in the village of Pekandelan Batu Wantilan.

As usual every Sunday, the children of Batuan village do painting activities with approximately 50 children. On a sunny day, we and the team brought around 65 black T-shirts which were the result of a collaborative design involving 9 selected children by making a collaborative design into a shirt design. Nine children from the Baturulangun group who made this design As usual, every Sunday, the children of Batuan village do painting activities with approximately 50 children. On a sunny day, the team and I brought around 65 black T-shirts, which resulted from a collaborative design involving nine selected children by making a collaborative design into a shirt design. Nine children from the Baturulangun group who made this design are:

1. Ni Luh Ade Genis
2. Luh Pratiwi
3. Ni Komang Suniari
4. I Made Mega Dwijanata
5. I Putu Lingga Adi Wahyu
6. I Kadek Heriawan
7. I Made Dio Kusuma Wijaya
8. I Made Dwi Fandika
9. I Made Devpa Widana

The process of making this design was carried out about one month ago, where the concept chosen was to raise the character of the manifestation of Dewata Nawa Sanga. Nine animal pictures are symbolic representations of the gods, packaged in a more modern form with coloring and rock-scratching techniques and children’s imaginations. Overall, this design displays fun but is also full of philosophical and cultural meanings behind it.

This activity had been going on since the morning, and the children looked enthusiastic and cheerful when we came and distributed the clothes they had been waiting for a long time. One by one, we called the children’s names according to their respective dress sizes. This is part of the preparation for the opening of the exhibition, where we have prepared various attributes that support event branding and other promotional media. On that occasion, discussions and friendly activities were also held with the parents of the children involved in the exhibition.

This process is part of the Indo art-house program, which always wants to encourage activities to preserve tradition or creativity by empowering and developing the talents and talents of children, especially in Batuan village, with the spirit of collaboration and involving young artists to be an essential part in the preparation of the exhibition.

See you on the weekend at the opening of the exhibition, which takes place on August 14 until the end of August.
